I Dom Know
Wednesday, 5 June 2013
He's really brown for a Vietnamese. We're meant to be yellowish but he's just BROWN. Mr 1st in 2 unit who didn't want to do 4 unit because he was too good for it. I remember those beanie-Dominic days. He looked... idk but weird. And his hair was flat as too. Yeah.

How you doin' Alex
Sunday, 26 May 2013
'Hi Serena'
Mr Lao. A Cambo/Chinese bred person who screams like a girl and is not ashamed of it. His lunch boxes are too childish and feminine for his tough/tall demeanour. Behind him, Dominic looks like he's making out with the chair, or praying idk LOL.

No More Depressive Stuff! Photo Time.
Saturday, 25 May 2013
Julie. Ex-photographer would like to show the world her work, one photo a day until her (blackmail) photos have fun out.
No.1... Tai!
Came to MFHS in 2012 and feels like he's been here forever. He looks like a cute teddy bear and looks so gentle when he sleeps. The most shifty guy I've ever met who's probably half my weight even though he eats double my servings. Mr 2nd in 4U, you will be destroyed.

Career Choices
Monday, 21 January 2013
MY FUTURE HUSBAND:
Okay, you know what I mean.
According to UAC, we are allowed nine preferences for our application.
Right now,
1) UNSW MBBS
2) USYD MBBS (I wanna see if it's possible after term 2 assessments or even trials, if not, I'll scrap it)
3) UWS MBBS
4) UNSW Civil Engineering + Architecture = 95.9
5) USYD Civil Engineering + Architecture = 98.2
6) UNSW Optometry (still a bit umm...)
7) UNSW Design in Architecture = 95.05
8) UNSW Actuary Studies (not sure) = 98.
9) USYD Diagnostic Radiography = 95.1 (.....)
As you can see, I'm a mess. And the last 4 are just fillers, I swear.
The thing is, my mother said I could go interstate as well. So I might apply interstate for med, and also I REALLY want to put dentistry down, but the thing is, it's a postgraduate degree. Even if you have an Bachelor of Oral Health, you can do jack until you have the Bachelor of Dental Surgery/Dental Science to become a dentist, so if you fail, you have to keep on trying for years for the GAMSAT which is more than 10 times worse than the UMAT. BUT interstate universities offer it as an undergraduate degree and most (smart) people wouldn't risk staying in NSW not knowing if you'll ever actually become a dentist soon. Saying that, I think Charles Sturt Uni offers it as an undergraduate degree in Orange, which I still reckon is A LONG ASS WAY FROM HOME.
Okay, another dilemma. If I don't get into any med schools, I have another pathway. I can do a Bachelor of Advanced Science for 4 years, get my degree and apply for postgrad med which goes for 4 years. It's a risk, and there's a lot of competition as probably 90% of that population are only there for that reason: apply for med again. The thing is, I am really interested in civil and architecture, but that's 5 years. I could apply for med again, but... why bother? You are qualified to become a builder and designer. This would mean I have to scrap my med dreams away, which I guess, could be good if I really enjoy my job - if I get hired :(
So if I do get accepted into UWS, the problem is that UWS is discriminated. Not as a doctor, but people will hire USYD/UNSW people over UWS people.
WHY IS THIS SO HARD OMG.
And I've also been thinking... what if I actually get accepted into medical school? WHAT IF?
So I've calculated, it should be similar to this: 6 years of medical school + 1 honours + 1 internship + 3 Register + 6 specialist training = 17 years for specialists
And if I am 18 when I finish high school, I should be 18+17=35 years young when I become fully qualified. And I do want to get married and have children so I'd have to do all that in 5 years. But, I mean, I don't mind if I still study while others have children and become millionaires and stuff, I guess it's part of the sacrifice. Also tbh I don't really care if I die... you know, lonely. I'm a career driven women but that type of risk... we'll only find out how much of it is actually worth it.
On the other hand, If I didn't try, I'll be kicking myself for the rest of my life.Labels: Julie

I love Grass
Thursday, 17 January 2013
I'm so excited to move to my new house on Wednesday. It belongs to White people and their grass is exceptional. As you may already know, they water it like an expensive flower and feed it like a family member. This results in the divine green colour in them. Courtesy of Google Images to demonstrate:

HSC Raw Marks
Sunday, 6 January 2013
As the HSC creeps closer, I trust that most of you guys should know a thing or two about scaling, aligning and modulation.
Your final HSC mark or set of digits you receive on the completition of your HSC certifcate is gone through a number of process until "it reaches a final aligned exam mark." If you manage to calculate your total marks, e.g. In physics after all your school assessments, you calculate your mark to be 30/50 (the other 50 comes from your HSC exam btw) and assuming you also get 60/100 from your HSC exam, you'd think you'll only get 60/100 overall. But from the table below, your final mark is actually somewhere around 80/100. If you are competent in your studies, the most difficult exams are your friends, as you will be rewarded for your knowledge and experience through hard work and dedication.
I hope everyone aims for a band 6/E4!
ESTIMATED B6/E4 CUTOFFS
English (Advanced) 77/100
Chemistry 72/100
Physics 76/100
Mathematics 94/120
Mathematics Extension 1 57/84
Mathematics Extension 2 76/120
Biology 79/100
Ancient History 83/100
English Extension 1 39/50
Legal Studies 81/100
Business Studies 80/100
It's difficult to estimate your ATAR based on your marks at school as they are simply numbers BOS people plug into their special BOS equation to generate your marks. Until your final marks are received, you can't really guarantee anything as everything flunctuates. However, you get an estimate from the document below.
You should download the table

Be Happy
Wednesday, 2 January 2013
While eating my yogurt and licking the lid, I saw a quote for all you cranky people.
I think they're pretty smart tbh and it gives gluttonous people a reason to gubble up absolutely everything in the yogurt tub. There is no shame in licking the lid. I don't know why people are so ashamed of it.
